Specialised Support for Complex Needs Beyond everyday help
We know some people require more than standard support. Our complex support services provide specialised care designed to ensure safety, dignity, and quality of life. Depending on your plan, this can include 24/7 in-home assistance as well as active or inactive overnight support.
What are complex supports?
Complex supports – also called high intensity supports or complex care – are tailored for people with advanced clinical or behaviour support requirements. These go beyond daily assistance and require specialised skills, training, and oversight from our clinical nursing team.
High-intensity health and behavioural supports
We can support individuals with high-intensity health and behavioural needs, including:
- Catheter and bowel care
- Dysphagia care and management
- PEG feeding
- Ventilator and tracheostomy care
- Diabetes care
- Epilepsy care
- Behaviour support and restrictive practice care
- Resilience-focused care
Quality and safety Our approach is person-centred meaning individual needs guide the training and allocation of support staff.
-
Our staff receive tailored complex care training around individual needs, ensuring they can deliver safe and effective support in every situation.
Role of nurses in complex supports
If you have complex care needs, our clinical nurses provide training and ongoing support for the team that supports you – so everyone feels confident and prepared. They are involved from the very beginning:
- Conducting intake assessments and creating your support plan.
- Collaborating with allied health teams.
- Delivering or coordinating in-person training to support workers when required.
- Providing ongoing advice and practical support.
